One platform, from a single wallet to a national clearing rail.

The platform issues and operates digital wallets, clears every payment between them in real time with finality, and settles into the national payment system through a sponsoring bank.

What it does

Value is loaded from a bank account, at an ATM, at an agent or over a counter, and comes back out the same ways. Every transaction is identified, timestamped and reconcilable. Nothing is batched and nothing is netted off inside the platform: each payment clears from money to money, and a payment that is not funded does not happen.

The wallet: personal, merchant and corporate sub-wallets under one payment service provider; a sponsoring bank holds the pool account and the float.
1. The wallet. One sponsoring bank holds the pool account and the float.
The client journey: a corporate enters as a sub-wallet and graduates to its own branded wallet, licence, pool account and sponsoring bank when volumes justify it.
2. The client journey. Enter as a sub-wallet; graduate to a branded wallet when volumes justify a licence.
The rail: every wallet clears through the SommaRedde cloud platform while banks continue to serve the card and cash rails in their own right.
3. The rail. Every wallet clears through the same platform.
The ecosystem: many branded wallets, each with its own sponsoring bank and float, all interoperable on one platform.
4. The ecosystem. Many branded wallets, each with its own sponsoring bank and float, all interoperable.

Capacity

The platform is engineered for very high concurrency: millions of low-value payments compressed into morning and evening peaks. It has been built and tested for a national commuter base, 16.5 million transactions in a three-hour peak window.

Where the same software runs today

ProgressSoft publishes its deployment record, and we quote it as published: 22 central payment infrastructures, more than 380 financial institutions, 26 countries, and the first countrywide electronic cheque clearing system in the world, in 2001.

Instant payment switches at central banks and clearing houses: Central Bank of Jordan; JoPACC, Jordan Payments and Clearing Company; Central Bank of Oman; Qatar Central Bank; Central Bank of Kuwait; Central Bank of Bahrain; BENEFIT Company, Bahrain; Central Bank of Libya; Central Bank of Sudan; Central Bank of Yemen; Central Bank of Seychelles; Nepal Rastra Bank; Nepal Clearing House Limited; SATIM, Algeria.

Wallet platforms at payment service providers: JawwalPay, Palestine; Zain, Jordan; Dinarak, Jordan; MEPS, Middle East Payment Services, Jordan; QPay, Qatar; Oman Investment and Finance Company, Oman; among others, alongside more than thirty commercial banks on the same wallet platform.

Central Africa. The Bank of Central African States selected ProgressSoft in December 2023 for the six member states of the Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa. The regional clearing infrastructure went into production on 3 August 2026, serving 59 participating banks. The instant payments platform there follows at a later stage.

Our own intellectual property

The cloud software-as-a-service platform that sits above the ProgressSoft engines is SommaRedde's intellectual property, and SommaRedde holds worldwide exclusivity for it. The partnership with ProgressSoft was concluded in 2017 and the cloud platform was completed in the fourth quarter of 2019.
